Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Provider, the GI Endoscopy Tech will: Assist with appropriate care during procedures Performs high-level disinfection of endoscopic equipment and maintains scope repossessing equipment to ensure appropriate functioningfollowing all established policies, procedures and standards. May be required to support other areas of surgical services included but not limited to Point of Care testing and EKG as directed by a registered nurse Transports patients, equipment and assists in the collection of specimens and transport of specimens to ensure timeliness of patient needs and information Monitors and Documents compliance with infection prevention measures in regard to scope reprocessing, repairs and new equipment Documents pertinent patient information on the medical record Maintains inventories, orders, and restocks including dietary/laundry needs to ensure appropriate assessments and tools are available in a timely fashion Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited sterile processing and distribution program. Acute clinical experience preferred Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English. We take great care of careers.
