**Job Summary / Purpose**

**Essential Key Job Responsibilities**
+ _Cleans and disinfects patient, ancillary and public areas as assigned daily following established procedures._
+ _Operates manual, battery-powered and electric equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums. Maintains and stores all equipment in a safe, sanitary manner._
+ _Collects, handles and disposes of designated waste streams and soiled linens in the prescribed manner._
+ _Completes stat and routine discharge room cleans._
+ _Adheres to all hospital required Safety, Risk Management and Infection Control practices_
+ _Identifies and reports work orders for maintenance/refurbishing needs._
+ _Inspects EVS equipment for cleanliness and need for repair._
+ _Provides support with the training and orientation of new employees._
+ _Greets and directs visitors, patients and staff. Provide assistance as needed._
+ _Attends all meetings and training sessions as required._
+ _Completes all mandatory education requirements._
+ _Follows established hospital and departmental policies and procedures._
+ _Initiates and promotes quality improvement, seeking to meet customer requirements and cost efficiency._
+ _On occasion may perform duties of Linen Tech._
+ _Other duties as assigned by management._
**Qualifications**
**Required Education for Staff Job Levels**
+ High school or GED preferred
+ Basic reading and writing skills required in order to understand and use chemical labels, SDS sheets, OSHA standards, isolation procedures, written instructions and departmental policies.
**Required Licensure and Certifications**
None
**Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively and courteously with supervisors, visitors and staff in order to promote good relationships and assist in training other employees.

**Pay Range**
$15.00 - $20.33 /hour
