WATERTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY FULL TIME CUSTODIAN

The Watertown Public Library is searching for a full time Maintenance Custodian This individual will support the custodial, housekeeping, and janitorial duties to maintain a safe, clean, and functional facility. The Watertown Public Library provides services that are essential to the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and the citizens they serve. The Maintenance Custodian is a core team member responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.

Individuals with commercial facilities maintenance experience encouraged to apply. Specific duties will basic trouble shooting with heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical for commercial facilities. Applicants will be required to use computers and software to operate the building HVAC system. Candidates will be responsible for floor care, window washing, restroom maintenance, office maintenance, grounds maintenance, and trash collection/recycling. As well as all house cleaning operations of the library as scheduled or needed. Knowledge in the use and operation of small grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools. Will be required to assist with snow removal and driving to local businesses or other city departments (yard waste, recycling) when needed.

Minimum Qualifications: High school graduation (or HSED equivalent); one year experience in the operation of light and some medium equipment and one year experience in basic grounds and building maintenance; valid driver's license and good driving record; the ability to lift and/or carry/move up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time hourly position with hours as listed below:

Hours from 7:30am to 4:00 pm Monday -Friday

Starting compensation starts at $19.84.
