Responsibilities include providing both program and transitional support and intervention to youth in placement. The Lead MC strives to sustain a strong leadership role amongst the Milieu Counselors and provides direction regarding client intervention and emotional regulation and provides support to staff to create an environment of emotional awareness balanced with client needs. About the Program:Our SAGE Youth Residential program provides long-term stabilization for survivors of commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC). Both during their exploitation and prior to it, many of these youth have experienced multiple environmental, social, and biological traumas. This may include sexual abuse, parental neglect and/or abuse, alcohol/drug dependency or abuse, school failure, and high levels of emotional vulnerability. Our SAGE program serves vulnerable youth in the CSEC population by providing a safe and secure setting in which they can experience Support, Achieve their goals, Grow, and become Empowered.Duties and Responsibilities:Provides supervision and support for youth in a milieu setting. Employs interventions that are consistent with best practices, the therapeutic models delivered by the program, ethical principles, and professional standards, regulations, policies, and procedures, and laws. Models appropriate interpersonal interactions while handling the activities and situations in the milieu space. Uses structure, routines, and activities to promote effective relationships. Responds to client behavior while encouraging and promoting several alternatives for the healthy expression of needs and feelings. Assists clients in identifying and developing their strengths through activates and other experiences.Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices. Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to equity and inclusion in the workplace; model appropriate behaviors; develop, recommend, and implement improvements to business practices with awareness and understanding of the impact in a trauma-informed and culturally diverse organization.This position is in an on-call rotation that provides support to the program for crisis intervention, managing staffing changes, etc. Experience/Education Requirements:A high school diploma or equivalent is required Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and Outlook 2 years of experience working with youth or a combination of education and related experience (highly preferred in a residential setting) Other Requirements:Pass a DHS criminal history backgroundValid Driver's LicensePay Scale:Lead Milieu Counselor: $22.58 - $24.02 Lead Milieu Counselor (Bilingual): $24.61- $26.18Why join us?Growth Opportunities- Morrison values its employees and provides leadership training to see our employees thrive and grow.
