The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc is currently accepting applications for a clinical audiologist position within our Audiology department. Our practice is a fast-paced clinical environment featuring a diverse and medically complicated population of patients. Our audiologists provide care to patients of all ages and abilities in areas including diagnosis and monitoring of hearing loss, electrophysiologic measures, comprehensive vestibular testing, management of tinnitus and hyperacusis, candidacy and fitting of hearing aids/osseo-integrated bone conduction devices, and candidacy and mapping of cochlear implants. Collaboration with otorhinolaryngologists, pediatricians, oncologists, researchers, and other specialties occurs regularly to optimize patient care.

For this position we are seeking a full-time audiologist that has a strong interest in vestibular assessment, electrophysiology, tinnitus management, and/or pediatric audiology. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred. A doctoral level degree in audiology is required. The applicant will be a team player that strives for excellence in patient care through compassion, attention to detail, and camaraderie with colleagues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluates and diagnoses hearing loss, interprets results, and may coordinate treatment plan with medical, educational and psychological information to make a diagnosis and determine a course of action.
Assesses the impact of hearing loss on an individuals daily life.
Evaluates and diagnoses balance disorders, interprets results, and may coordinate treatment plan with medical, educational, and psychological information to make a diagnosis and determine a course of action.
Develops and implements hearing loss treatment plan, which may include fitting/dispensing hearing aids, and fitting/programming cochlear implants.
Counsels patients about hearing, balance, and related problems. Educates them about treatment plan including care and maintenance of hearing aids.
Documents patient condition and progress.
Uses the electronic medical record as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedure and processes.
Completes mandatory employee health, workers compensation, HR processes, and other training and requirements in required timeframe to ensure compliance with all FPI rules and regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited program; Aud. preferred.
Maryland State Audiologist license is required.
