Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. We have a full-time, 2nd shift Machinist position available with our Power Systems Division at our San Antonio, Texas location. We are located at 5665 SE Loop 410 San Antonio, TX 78222. The hours of the position are Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm to midnight. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise and Machining services on cylinder heads on diesel and natural gas engines in order satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals.

Duties include:
- Tearing down, cleaning, inspecting, andassembling cylinder heads on diesel and natural gasengines.
- Assist other machinists with repair tasks on diesel and natural gasengines.
- Take out broken bolts from diesel and natural gasengine components.
- Clean the shop area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 1 year of basic diesel engine or diesel components repair skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Graduation from a diesel technology and/or a machining program preferred
- Experience with polishing crankshafts & camshafts
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to performbasic repairs correctly in the machine shopenvironment.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to read a micrometer.
- Ability to learn multiple machine shop operations
- Must have own handtools.
- Ability to be productive by working efficiently and effectively with a high energy level.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds about24 times a day.
- Need to obtain a forklift certification within30 daysof employment.
