We are looking for dependable, organized, mechanically skilled individuals for this opening. If you are a punctual, communicative, diligent, and detail-oriented individual that works well with a team then OPEX may be the right place for you to pursue your career.Essential Responsibilities Set up and operate miscellaneous manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, tapping heads, arbor press, and surface and OD grinders. Maintain a clean, safe work area. Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability. Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blueprints for parts being run. Inspect parts using micrometer, gages, and related inspection instruments. Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e. deburring) Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality, productivity, organizational, and safety goals. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsPosition Requirements: High school, or equivalentSkills/Abilities/Competencies: Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity. Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment. Ability to work through daily operational activities. Good interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills Ability to plan effectively and execute the plans. Strong mechanical aptitude. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Must have strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft productsPhysical/Work Environments Worker will be working in a machine shop setting.
