Executive Surety Underwriter

Job Purpose:Responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of Surety portfolio within your region for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The Surety Manager is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new broker relationships, effectively marketing Allianz Trade Suretys capabilities, underwriting profitable business in the U.S., and assisting in mentoring, training, and developing junior underwriters.Key Responsibilities and Job Duties:Executing the established strategic business plan to maintain and expand Allianz Trades Surety business in the USDeveloping and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through activeengagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships in the local market.Documenting all decisions and recommendations consistently and transparently.Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent withunderwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by Allianz Trade.Collaborating with colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage surety capabilities and existing customer base.Actively travel to attend broker and agency visits, industry groups, and local surety events, as requested by the RVP.Participate and lead in internal projects and initiatives as requested by the RVP.Collaborating with RVP in training and mentoring underwritersRequired Qualifications and Skills:College degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance5+ years of industry experience.Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in the U.S. in your local market.Established track record developing business with brokers and strong relationships with them.Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and risks.Proven track record of successful underwriting resultsAbility to work in a fast-paced, service-driven environmentStrong attention to detailStrong communication skills, written and verbal, in order to establish a market presenceMust be willing and able to travel within assigned territoryAllianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
