Objective As a member of the Coldwater site team, the loader operator will execute the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the loader in accordance with Lafarge’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment's operation. Responsibilities Safety: Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents. Promote safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional. Production: Load rock trucks or primary hopper to ensure the plant meets daily targets. This position also requires the operator to be able to operate a 775 rock truck occasionally. Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Equipment: Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices. Maintenance: Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program. Other: Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site. This position is for first shift (Approximately 5:30 am to 5:00 pm). Relationships with Others Jobs: Reports to the Plant Foreman. This position requires extensive liaison with the weighmaster and Highway Truck Operators. Specific Accountabilities: Safety: Near Miss and HI process, MVA’s, FA’s, MI’s, LTI’s, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments. Maintenance: daily and annual inspection process, prioritize deficiencies as they occur. Qualification Profile Education & Work Experience: Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent. Industrial plant operation experience an asset. Heavy equipment operation experience an asset. Knowledge & Skills: Specific mobile equipment training.
