The America Middle-East Press Association (AMEPA), a non-partisan, privately funded non-profit organization, is looking to hire a media advisor based in Washington, D.C. Core Job Responsibilities: As a Media Advisor, your primary responsibilities will include: Identifying, establishing, and nurturing relationships with key media contacts within your city - casting a wide net including a variety different media outlets, editorial chiefs and staff members, presenters, journalists, popular bloggers, etc. Securing participation on zoom briefings, in-person briefings, delegations to Israel, and connecting them to experts on a variety of topics. Being pro-active when it comes to outreach (in between briefings and delegations), assisting as needed and offering to connect media contacts with experts in Israel on a variety of topics for upcoming stories/reports including military, political, financial, agricultural, culture, fashion, music, tech, business, etc. Attending regular meetings to learn with - and from - one another as well as to discuss possible topic(s) for the next briefing and upcoming delegations to Israel Submitting reports on a regular basis to document progress Qualifications: Passion for the mission Experience as a Journalist, Public Relations Officer, Media Consultant or similar role Experience managing media relations (broadcast, print, online) Superb communication skills (oral and written) Excellent organizational skills Ability to work well independently Comfortable working in a distributed set-up Can-do attitude / problem-solving mentality Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and CRMs BS/BA in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field Open to occasional travel About AMEPA: We enable American media and journalists to cover Israel thoroughly and comprehensively by providing direct access to top Israeli policy officials, business and scientific leaders, and other public and private sector experts. Our goal is to generate broader and deeper insight and knowledge about Israel and its contributions to the world, amid all the complexities and challenges relating to Israel and the broader Middle East. Our team works behind the scenes with American media to provide direct access to top policy makers, advisors, business and scientific leaders, and other public and private sector experts from Israel and the U.S. We arrange virtual and in-person press briefings, delegations to Israel, and we host proprietary meetings in major U.S. cities. We are a valuable source of key contacts for journalists searching for quotes and interviews with experts and spokespersons.
