This position involves coordinating with medical staff, patients, and external providers to ensure that referrals are processed efficiently. Additionally, the role includes scanning, organizing, and maintaining medical records in an electronic system to ensure the integrity of patient data. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate patient referrals by communicating with healthcare providers, and patients to schedule appointments with specialists or external services.Accurately enter and update referral information into the electronic medical records system, Epic.Monitor the status of referrals to ensure timely completion and follow-up with providers or patients as needed.Scan and upload medical documents, including patient charts, test results, and clinical notes, into the electronic health records (Epic) system.Ensure that all scanned documents are categorized appropriately and stored securely for easy retrieval.Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Assist in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of patient records by reviewing and verifying the scanned documents.Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, assisting with medical record requests, and maintaining filing systems.Required Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work with electronic health record (EHR) systems.Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and external organizations.Knowledge of HIPAA and medical privacy regulations.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.This dual role ensures that the healthcare facility operates smoothly, supporting both patient care and record-keeping with accuracy and efficiency.Education and ExperienceCompletion of High School or GED required.Keywords: Office Assistant, Front Desk Referral Clerk, Health Information Clerk
