You will discuss the needs of the guest and their pets, provide solutions for today and tomorrow, and refer them to a Specialist when appropriate. Youll work the cash register and ensure merchandise is properly stocked and priced, creating an excellent experience for all guests. The role requires passion for animal welfare, health, and proper handling, and a positive partnership within the Pet Care Center team. Position Responsibilities Provide a great experience by engaging with guests utilizing your skills and training. Assist guests in the proper selection of merchandise in accordance with their identified needs. Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals. Process transactions to create a great experience for each guest. Generate future business through deep understanding of guests and their pets. Perform related duties to support the Pet Care Center in attaining its assigned sales goals. Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for guests. Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise. Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures. Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration. Complete other duties and special projects as assigned. Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed. Other Essential Duties Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience within our Pet Care Locations. Contribute to a safe environment and maintain safety protocols as priority. Be part of a collaborative culture centered around pets health and wellness. Engage in career development through our programs for continued growth. Basic Qualifications Must be able to work successfully within a team, demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor, and have a keen interest in animals and their care. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills are necessary. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in sales, retail, or related field, high knowledge of pet nutrition, and aptitude for sales techniques. Supervisory Responsibility None. Work Environment The majority of duties are conducted indoors; merchandise receiving, carry?outs, or stock balancing may require leaving the store briefly. The role requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise, and standing for long periods. Must lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs using material?handling equipment. Improper use of safety equipment or improper lifting techniques may pose risk of injury. Must be available for shifts on evenings, weekends, some overnights, and holidays.
