SummaryOur client is is a leading application Engineering Consulting firm in the Washington, D.C. metro region specializing in Management Services, Technology Solutions and Facilities Services. They partner with and assist Federal, State and local government agencies; private sector Energy Services Companies (ESCOs); and Commercial entities in the design and implementation of their various Engineering and Technology related projects. Additionally, they are able to leverage an engineering team with proven technology industry experience that resulted in multi-million-dollar contracts within federal government, state & local government clients

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for an Application Developer to join their team to support the VITA contract The Application Developer will work on small to mid-sized projects to build software and solutions. The Application Developer will participate in the SDLC process, troubleshoot, and implement custom-written and vendor-sourced enterprise software. This role involves configuration, customization, and integration with disparate internal and external small-scale systems. The Application Developer will also collaborate with team members, department stakeholders, vendors, and partners in designing, configuring, and deploying software solutions.

  • Work as part of a small team or independently to transform business requirements into technical solutions
  • Gather user requirements and feedback to formulate solutions for web applications and systems
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and support custom-developed small to mid-sized software solutions
  • Develop front-end design, database, technical documentation, test procedures, source control, coding, and system configuration
  • Develop UI-UX, navigation, classes, APIs, web services, automation processes, workflow, database objects, reports, and data ETL
  • Develop and maintain database-driven web interfaces
  • Design and implement responsive, standards-based, accessible, user-focused templates and interfaces
  • Write simple to complex online applications and modify existing online applications
  • Support QA activities for quality delivery including unit, system, user acceptance, and regression testing
  • Manage software development lifecycle and associated development operations software and systems
  • Manage assigned technical support incidents and perform root cause analysis and mitigation
  • Design, develop, and deploy low code cloud-based solutions
  • Monitor systems for optimized data storage and processing functions in accordance with security policies and best practices
  • Monitor and optimize the use of development operations related cloud services

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with modern/responsive design, programming principles, and techniques
  • 3+ years of experience with basic SDLC stages/phases, tools, and concepts
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications
  • 2+ years of experience in development with .NET frameworks
  • 1+ year of experience in PowerApps development and workflow design in Power Automate
  • 1+ year of experience in client-side and server-side programming
  • 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Office 365
  • 1+ year of experience with SQL database scripting, data analysis, and report writing in SSRS

Preferred Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience with Azure DevOps or TFS deployment and management (desired)
  • 1+ year of experience with UI/UX design and application navigation fundamentals (desired)
  • 1+ year of experience with API/interface development for various online platforms (nice to have)
