Performs semi-skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to support the proper operation of buildings, utilities, equipment, grounds and facilities. Essential Functions
25% - Monitors, maintains and performs minor repairs for mechanical, carpentry, locks, plumbing, electrical, life safety and energy management system issues. Investigates and obtains trades services if necessary; coordinates and oversees work performed by external vendors. Performs preventative maintenance on cooling, water, heat, air, drainage and other infrastructure systems20% - Makes keys, installs locks; maintains and installs doors and associated hardware; may issue and maintainkeys20% - Retrieves information and enters/updates information in reports, logs or other documentation/record-keeping systems15% - Reads, understands, and interprets safety sheets and warning labels to safely utilize chemicals, cleaners, and/or other materials10% - Responds to work order requests and/or emergency calls. Adheres to applicable policies and procedures. Keeps assigned tools and/or equipment in clean and safe working condition5% - Using predetermined layouts for larger events, setup chairs, tables, staging, signage, install banners using a boom lift. May work some weekends and evenings as event support5% - Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, and one (1) year of building maintenance experience or directly related experience. ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a facilities maintenance position in a large institutional setting with high work volume
- Completes assigned work orders through an electronic work order system to perform general preventative maintenance tasks and/or repairs on a daily basis
- Ability to read construction documents and/or furniture layouts
- Professional experience with space planning/determining furniture and/or equipment placement/installation
- Demonstrated knowledge of sign code compliance for sign installation
- Experience providing direct customer service
- Certified forklift operation or previous forklift operating experience
- Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements
- Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
- Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
- May require numerous evenings or weekends
- May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
- May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs
