In addition, this role will manage a team of bookkeepers. Accountant Responsibilities: Build strong relationships with clients and promptly resolve their accounting needs and issues. Provide monthly accounting services for small companies: Manage banking and cash management, perform bank reconciliations, process payroll, manage AP/AR, calculate and pay state and local taxes, understand P/L and balance sheets, and manage fixed asset schedules. Manage month-end close, prepare year-end financial statements. Understanding of small businesses and their accounting practices across different industries. Experience with Architecture and Engineering industries or similar is a plus. Train and mentor interns and new staff. Accountant Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in a smaller company. Must have prior management experience. Experience supervising other accounting professionals. Proficient in QuickBooks online, Excel, and other accounting software such as Deltek Ajera. Understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting. Accounting degree preferred, CPA license is a plus.
