Description

We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function with innovative strategies that support our company culture and values. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator, adept at problem-solving, and committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Human Resources Manager at the Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) is responsible for managing the strategic and operational human resources functions at Stroum Jewish Community Center, including employee relations, compliance, benefits and compensation, talent acquisition, HRIS management, policy and process development, and performance management.

Responsibilities Summary:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors and employees on complex employee relations matters.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Oversee talent acquisition efforts, including job advertisements, proactive support to hiring managers, and identifying effective recruitment avenues.
  • Partner with Chief Operating Officer on strategic functions, including workforce strategy and planning, performance management, and policy development.
  • Manage compensation administration, including regular salary benchmarking and internal equity analysis.
  • Oversee benefits programs, including managing vendor relationships with insurance carriers and brokers.
  • Oversee use of HRIS software system for employee records and onboarding tasks; identify and implement additional uses of HRIS to support agency needs.
Requirements

Qualifications Summary:
  • 5+ years' relevant human resources experience.
  • HR Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) and/or Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with HRIS software and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Office 365, Teams, and Word).
  • Satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.
  • People-oriented and results-driven.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

  • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including but not limited to, skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
