Compactor Management Company is a manufacturer of waste and recycling equipment such as compactors, containers, balers (all sizes), as well as custom fabrication requests. Most services/repairs are mobile and can be provided at customer locations within the greater bay area while equipment sold can be distributed throughout California. We have serviced and sold to over hundreds of companies within the greater bay area.

Role Description

CMC is in search of a full-time on-site Operations Manager our Chutes Department. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the chutes department, including coordinating schedules, managing staff, and ensuring efficient workflow. They will also be responsible for maintaining safety standards, managing inventory and supplies, and providing regular reports to upper management.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience in operations management preferably with commercial construction projects
  • Experience in the Construction industry with Prevailing Wage Projects
  • Experience with Licensing Requirements for Projects
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Experience in waste management or recycling industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations within the Chutes Department, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  • Take responsibility for scheduling and staffing, monitoring daily budgeted hours, and managing overtime effectively to optimize operation costs.

2. Personnel Training and Management:

  • Train and retrain all department personnel in chute procedures, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a skilled and safety-conscious workforce.
  • Responsible for employee scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage to meet operational demands.
  • Promote good employee relations and handle employee issues efficiently and effectively.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain oversight of Quality Assurance for operational issues, focusing on performance and safety.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions as needed to address operational challenges and ensure compliance with safety standards.

4. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of construction professionals within the Chutes Department.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging growth and development among team members.

5. Business Outcome Management:

  • Contribute to business outcome management by aligning departmental goals with overall company objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, cost-efficiency, and performance metrics.

6. Integrated Purchasing and Inventory Control:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to optimize integrated purchasing and inventory control processes.
  • Ensure efficient management of resources and materials.

7. Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and facilitate a sound project development cycle and operational process to support departmental and company goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization and operational enhancement.
