JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Engineer must possess and exercise commitment, initiative, integrity, and teamwork in the execution of their duties. While working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent, the Project Engineer acts as liaison between the owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team. This position will have good communication skills to process administrative work including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, claims and change orders. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for meeting minutes and assisting with scheduling.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizes, track and maintain project related files, drawings, materials, and correspondence.

Be proficient in basic estimating skills including quantity take offs, spreadsheet analysis, unit pricing that can be utilized in the review of change order pricing.

Sends out RFIs, maintains log of responses and sends out plans and specifications to subcontractors and vendors.

Review and process the project documentation work including submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor claims, purchase orders and other procedures, specific to project documentation, as required and Inputs them into the project management system.

Assists Project Management Team with tracking project expenditures and cost accounting, including accuracy, approvals, and payment reporting.

Assist in the preparation of subcontracts including development of drawing lists, scopes of work and schedules.

Maintain effective and positive business relationships with customers, subcontractors and vendors.

Assists the Project Management team by setting up project binders and printing drawings and specifications.

Prepare project close out documents including monitoring of punch list to completion, preparation of warranties and operations manuals.

Assist in preparing documents for project meetings, safety meetings and coordination meetings. Prepare meeting minutes and distributing them by using the Project Management System.

Performs other miscellaneous administrative duties, as required by the Project Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a bachelors degree in related field and 2 years of position-related experience.

Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and outlook is a must.

Proficiency in Procore and P6 is a plus.
