Works under the supervision of the pharmacist and pharmacy manager to support dispensing functions, pharmacy operational maintenance activities, inventory management, patient care activities, and to meet regulatory compliance. Accurately fills prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Reviews patient medical information for completeness and patient medication history under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Performs data entry and resolves pharmacy insurance claims and rejections. Assists with customer service needs, including answering telephones, processing prescriptions per patient or provider request, delivery coordination, and other pharmacy programs. Assists with inventory management activities, including receiving of medications and supplies. Maintains stock and processes outdates as required. Stocks, posts, and pulls inventory and pharmacy supplies as needed. Processes orders using pharmacy automation systems as needed. Compounds non-sterile medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Processes, prepares, labels, documents, packs, and coordinates delivery of prescriptions to customers including point of sale. Performs activities related to pharmacy technician scope of practice.
