Position Summary

The Professional Level 5 (PL5) Hardware Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components.

Responsibilities Analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions. Test hardware conformance to specifications. Perform analyses at all levels of system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems. Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product. Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Contribute to the development of technical proposals. Serve as a subject matter expert during proposal reviews.

Requirements

Formal Education & Certification Bachelor of Science with 25 years of experience, or Master of Science with 23 years, or PhD with 20 years Active TS/SCI with CT poly Thorough understanding of RF theory, electro-optics, and/or signal processing. Vendor/Customer relations and negotiation skills/experience.
