The Cable Cut Operator is responsible for cutting specific cables and cordages to length, used by the Assembler in the fabrication of pre-terminated cables and jumpers.

The Cable Cut Operator's job requires loading, cutting, coiling, identification of various connector, and cable cord types using the shop order; places parts and shop order with the allocated cable cord and moves to the assembly staging area.

Job Functions

The cable cut operator performs multiple functions for our team:

  • For any order requiring termination, the operator cuts the specified cable to length and quantity for the order.
  • Optimizes cable usage off master reels, which minimizes scrap.
  • The operator is also tasked with drilling out and or using machine lathe to increase the cable entrance diameter of some cable transitions.
  • The operator Kanbans raw materials by weighing and bagging by fiber count for the high-volume orders
  • The operator bands and or secures reels and boxes that require palletization.
  • Daily emptying cardboard recycling bins and collected Shop trash
Core Skills Requirements
  • Ability and experience to use medium to heavy machinery
  • Certified forklift driver
  • Able to lift 20-100 pounds as required
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong SAP skills
  • Ability to work on their feet most of the day
