Contact me at the email at the end of the description - THX BOB Harvest CROO Robotics (HCR) - Electrical Engineering Manager HCR About Harvest CROO is completing the development of a robotic harvester to take the place of the “human” harvesting for strawberries. WinterGreen Research forecasts the agricultural robotics market size to grow from $817M in 2013 to $16.3B by 2020. Agribotics are revolutionizing the agricultural sector. The future belongs to systems that can operate autonomously. According to WinterGreen Research,robotics will become as ubiquitous as computer technology over the next 15 years. Position The Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) has the primary responsibility for designing, testing, and building agricultural robots that are productive and safe to operate as well as economical to build and maintain for HCR using computer-aided design and drafting, and computer-aided manufacturing (CADD/CAM) systems to perform his tasks. The EEM will design robotic systems and research methods to manufacture them economically along with supervising junior personnel. The EEM will also help to create an integrated environment between people and machinery. The EEM must be able to work well with team members and must be able to communicate their ideas effectively. This position requires personal initiative to accomplish technological innovation and creativity in support of new business development. Duties and Responsibilities • Lead, and collaborate with others, both within and outside HCR, in the translation of research into engineering practice. • Design, develop, code, test and debug system software. • Execute field testing of systems along with documenting the test results. • Provide high level estimates on hardware/software development efforts. • Broad knowledge of Electrical Engineering and manufacturing processes and procedures. • Provide leadership and management of development projects, including communicating project progress to multiple stakeholders. • Develop a program strategy and implementation plan including short and long term goals and objectives for HCR. • Provide consultation, review or co-investigator collaboration on colleagues’ projects, as well as mentorship to junior level engineers. • Location will be Tampa, FL; some travel will be required. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Experience in developing effective collaborations with academic and industrial partners. • Background in technical or scientific field such as robotics, electronic development, or other application areas relevant to HCR including electro-mechanical systems development, or related technologies. • Demonstrated professional maturity and ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. • Excellent communication skills, including facilitation, negotiation, and collaboration. • Leadership, mentoring, and other skills needed to lead teams and to work with subcontractors and prime contractors to accomplish common goals. • Document designs, project plans, test plans and processes for team collaboration. Technical Skills Desired • Sensor Processing & Fusion Algorithms • Vehicle Power Systems and overall Vehicle electrical Architecture • Vehicle Guidance and GPS Navigation familiarity • SLAM Lidar/Stereo/Sonar Algorithms • Manipulator Kinematics, Trajectory Planning • GPS, IMU, Kalman Filter Algorithms • Automation Control Sensors • PID Controllers, Motor Controllers • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Control Systems • C/C++, Java, Embedded Linux • Microsoft .Net Technology stack, C#, Web, WPF, Visual Studio, Document Database. • Knowledge of using software development tools such as: source control, debuggers, defect tracking, code unit testing and build processes. • Knowledge of building software solutions using object oriented designs in a multi-threaded system. • TCP/IP, UDP, Inter-process Comm., CAN (J1939, ISO 11783) • Switch Mode Power Supplies and Power Electronics • PCB Design, Fabrication, Test • Technical Writing and Presentations Education Bachelors or MS Degree in Engineering required. Preferred major is Electrical with 5 or more year’s related experience in the development of mobile robotics or comparable field. Compensation Based on Experience and Skills
