Duties, Responsibilities & Other (Water/Wastewater Project Manager) The Water/Wastewater Project Manager is designed for individuals adept at handling projects of increased scope and complexity. This role oversees a larger portfolio of responsibilities, including coordination of multiple subconsultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. The Project Manager drives successful project outcomes from planning through completion, requiring strong organizational skills, effective communication, and extensive experience in project coordination. Manage project management, client interaction, and technical and fee proposal preparation within the designated engineering practice. Manage projects, develop scopes and budgets, conduct engineering studies and prepare technical reports for a wide variety of high-profile projects. Assist the engineering practice leader in project budgets and deliverables, QA/QC, proposals, and client interaction. Include marketing, business development and expanding the engineering practice. Possess supervisory or staff specialist experience, planning and directing large projects or entire programs, and staying current with scientific developments applicable to KCI. Demonstrate good communication, supervisory and mentoring skills, attention to detail, and valid driver's licenses to travel as needed. Demonstrated business development and project management experience within the past 24 years. Ability to manage multiple projects with a diverse team. PE License preferred. Project Management And Leadership Manage all aspects of the project(s), including technical staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure timely and successful project completion. Develop and communicate the Project Management Plan, outlining objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, and safety protocols. Effectively manage project scope and maintain client alignment; monitor schedules and budgets; identify and mitigate risks; ensure quality and safety compliance. Serve as primary client contact; collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive project success; allocate resources; prepare risk assessments and contingency plans. Training, Development, And Compliance Mentor staff; comply with KCI policies; contribute to project safety plans and ensure regulatory compliance. Financial Management And Reporting Negotiate contract terms and fees; develop project schedules; manage contracts; report progress to leadership; target utilization and project performance; manage cash flow (WIP/AR); prepare monthly reports and closeout documentation. Business Development And Marketing Participate in opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and proposal development; identify new business opportunities and promote KCIs capabilities; assist project closeout with marketing materials. Project Execution And Technical Oversight Fully manage project management and technical deliverables; conduct site visits, prepare designs, and interpret technical documents; maintain knowledge of relevant policies and guidelines. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in a related field (AEC Industry) and minimum 3 years of related professional experience, or 7 years of equivalent experience. Participation in continuing education and professional development. Experience in project management with a track record of successful delivery; demonstrated leadership and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Technical knowledge in the project field; proficiency with project management tools and ability to develop and maintain project plans and documentation; knowledge of industry standards and best practices; problem-solving skills; negotiation skills; understanding of accounting principles for budgets and reporting. Masters Degree in related field preferred; PE license preferred. Certificates, Licenses, And/or Registrations Complete KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training; pass PM Board within 6 months of start date. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks as required.
