Specialist Cleaner

Berry Recruitment are recruiting for a Specialist Cleaner to start ASAP for a local council. The service provides specialist cleaning services internally to Housing, Social Care, and Environmental Health departments. They also provide a service to the NHS Hospital Discharge team. The specialist cleansing service runs alongside the Pest Control Service, providing a wide range of duties including dealing with Bio-hazards (once training has been undertaken). Some of the standard duties are as follows: Visiting properties, some of which are void and some occupied, to undertake minor and extensive cleaning works. (This does involve attending some filthy and verminous properties and dealing with bio-hazards.) Attending properties where an individual has passed away to undertake decontamination works alongside Pest Control Officers. (Once training has been undertaken) Searching for and removing syringes within property and outside (once training has been undertaken) Specifications for the role: An individual who is happy to work within filthy and verminous properties, sometimes dealing with bio-hazards. Someone who is flexible, has a good sense of time accountability, and works well under pressure to meet deadlines. May be working with vulnerable individuals, so need to have a lot of patience as well as a flexible problem-solving, respectable nature - will need to be DBS certified. Be diplomatic in dealing with internal and external partners/client authorising works (under the direction of the Pest Control Officer). You must be able to drive as you will be required to work all over Southampton in various locations.
