Position Overview:

The Division Controller, reporting to the Corporate Controller, is a seasoned professional responsible for overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting within the transportation division. Acting as the primary liaison for the Vice President of Transportation and the General Manager, this role demands meticulous attention to detail, adept financial acumen, and a commitment to the organization's mission-driven ethos. Ideal candidates possess exceptional communication skills, financial expertise, and organizational prowess, able to navigate a diverse array of tasks with finesse and discretion. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously on projects from inception to fruition, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. The Division Controller role is based in either the Idaho Falls, Idaho office or North Salt Lake, UT facility.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee accounting and reporting functions for the transportation division.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with the VP of Transportation and GM to develop accurate and timely financial reports.

Ensure timely month-end closures and assist the Corporate Controller with entity closures.

Review inventory systems and reports for accuracy and compliance.

Facilitate inventory reconciliation and expense tracking for transportation units.

Identify and recommend process enhancements to optimize accounting practices.

Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with financial controls.

Assist with forecasting and planning initiatives as needed.

Foster a culture of best practices and accountability in financial management.

Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as required.

Serve as a conduit for effective communication between Transportation and Accounting teams, fostering collaboration and trust.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Minimum 7 years of experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager.

At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

Proficiency in financial reporting and systems.

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.

Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Advanced computer literacy; quick learner of company systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills; adept at relationship building.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

MBA strongly preferred; CPA strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Normal concentration and mental effort.

Adequate memory for information retention.

Ability to handle routine field operations.

Must be able to work on-site in an office environment.
