Our client, a national provider of construction, manufacturing and engineering services is seeking an experienced and highly enthusiastic

Structural Engineer

to join their team, located in suburban

St. Louis, MO.

The ideal candidate will perform design functions specific to the structural engineering scope for Specialty Boilers to suit the needs of customer requirements. You should possess experience with all relevant design calculations for development of final drawings for the fabrication and supply of structural components.

The chosen candidate will possess strong experience with making design decisions based upon good practices with understanding of core structural/mechanical concepts.

You will resolve customer questions, supplier/fabricator requests for changes and scope modifications. Responsibilities

Perform design calculations specific to structural scope.

Review final drawings representing the designs generated.

Perform development work associated to Design Guides and Layout Guidelines, and Engineering Policies focused on improvements.

Partner with contractors to review designs and provide detailed comments and questions.

Collaborate with customers and other departments for communication needs, clarification and justification of designs and follow-up information.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.

5- 7 years of experience in heat recovery is essential and required.

Strong understanding of steel design is required.

Knowledge of boiler equipment and limitations are highly preferred.

Ability to understand and perform job requirements to execute projects.

Previous experience, interest, and ability to learn structural design concepts is required.

Ability to think originally, possess sound judgment and develop competence and confidence in all phases of the job.

Capable of developing good working relationships with clients and internal customers.

Driven to perform tedious calculations with precise results.

Strong communications skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) are essential in this role.

Good analytical thinking ability and problem resolution skills.
