Blair Image Elements, a leader in supplying signage and related branding elements to regional, national, and international clients, is currently seeking Electronics Engineers for our Electronics Development Team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania. As part of this team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining electronics hardware and firmware for signage, LED lighting and related products.

What you'll be doing:
  • Gather and write product requirement specifications
  • Specify electronic components for new products that meet requirements
  • Design and prototype electroic circuits and systems to meet requirements
  • Develop schematics and lay out PCBs using Mentor Graphics PADS or similar
  • Develop and maintain production programmers / test fixtures
  • Design, implement, test and maintain electronics firmware for new products
  • Evaluate failures returned from the field
  • Write customer facing documentation for products
  • Work closely with Customer Support and provide high level tech support as needed
  • Train service perosnnel and end users on product features
What we're looking for:
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Srrong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • PCB design experience
  • Ability to design, develop and debug electrical circuits
  • Ability to solder through hole and SMD components
  • Familiarity with C, C#, WPF
  • Knowledge of electroics assembly / Design for Manufacture
  • Understanding of embed serial communication (UART, SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP
  • Experience using electronic test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc.)
  • Experience working with LED products is a plus
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology is a plus
