Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jira Administrator to join our team. As a Jira Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, customization, administration, and support of Jira and related plugins to meet the needs of our organization. You will work closely with various teams to understand their requirements, implement solutions, and ensure the smooth operation of our Jira instance.
Key Responsibilities:
Configuration and Customization: Customize Jira workflows, screens, fields, permissions schemes, notification schemes, and other configurations to support the needs of different teams and projects.
Plugin Management: Install, configure, and manage plugins and add-ons to enhance the functionality of Jira and integrate with other tools in our technology stack.
User Management: Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Jira, ensuring appropriate access levels for different users and teams.
Automation: Implement automation rules, post functions, and scripts using Jira's built-in features or scripting languages (e.g., Groovy) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.
Integration: Integrate Jira with other tools and systems such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Slack to facilitate seamless collaboration and information sharing.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance of Jira instance, identify areas for optimization, and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
Issue Resolution and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users, providing timely support and ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.
Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation, guidelines, and training materials for Jira users and administrators to promote best practices and ensure consistent usage across teams.
Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and configurations to protect sensitive data stored in Jira and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest features, best practices, and trends in Jira administration and agile methodologies, and actively seek opportunities to enhance our Jira instance and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Jira Administrator or similar role, preferably in a software development or IT environment.
In-depth knowledge of Jira administration, including configuration, customization, plugin management, and user management.
Experience with scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, or JavaScript for automation and customization tasks.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in agile development environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-JA) or Atlassian Certified System Administrator (ACSA) are a plus.
Experience with other Atlassian products such as Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo is desirable.
