As a GIS Specialist, you'll be the cartographer behind the scenes, shaping how we understand and interact with our city. From property lines to underground utilities, your work will be the foundation for informed decisions. You'll craft captivating maps, build interactive applications, and provide invaluable insights to our city departments.

Our Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a data-driven and creative individual with a strong foundation in GIS. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, computer science, geographic studies, or a related field, coupled with at least two years of hands-on GIS experience. Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software is essential.

A deep understanding of GIS concepts, database management, and data exchange is crucial. You should be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences, effectively communicating complex information. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, are essential for success in this role.

Prior experience in map production, data analysis, and project management is highly desirable. While not required upon hire, an ESRI Certification or GIS Professional Certification would be a valuable asset.
