Primary Focus
- General ledger
- Review Accounts Payable aging for outstanding items
- Review Accounts Receivable aging for outstanding items
- Reconcile Debt Schedule to reporting
- Review and reconcile prepaid expense schedule
- Reconcile Prepaid Expense Schedule to reporting
- Reconcile Fixed Assets Schedule to reporting
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable/ Accounts Payable GL with Subsidiary Accounts
- Reconcile Monthly Bank Statements
- Prepare Monthly Board Cash Disbursement Reports
- Reconcile Clearing Accounts
- Accrue various Administrative and management fees
- Reconcile Investment Transactions
- Create, Compile and Maintain Current Counts of all Agency Inventory
- Coordinate inventory counts every two years for all agency assets on a rolling basis to diminish the impact on staff time
- Maintain current inventory of all agency assets which accounts for all additions, disposals and moves of assets
- Create Disposal Resolutions for assets
- Ensure purchased assets are properly tagged
- Monthly Tenant Accounts Receivable
- Create Bad Debt entry for month
- Create Vacancy Loss and Concession entry
- Process Monthly Tenant Bad Debt for Collections
- Review tenant accounts receivable aging for possible collections proceedings.
- Work with property managers to identify tenants that are ready to be sent to collections.
- Create Board Resolution for tenant bad debt.
- Enter tenants into collection agency on-line.
- Others- Annual Reporting
- Prepare Annual Unclaimed Property Report
- Prepare Annual 1099 Forms
- Manage Annual Property and Liability Insurances
- Review Outstanding Checks
- Petty Cash testing
- Assist in completion of monthly journal entries.
- Establishes and maintains a positive, supportive, and cooperative work environment;
- Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents.
- Acts responsibly for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment.
- Uses all required safety equipment.
- Displays initiative to resolve problems and capitalize on opportunities.
- Promotes cost-effective use of the organization's resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Five years of accounting experience, preferably with a housing authority or municipality.
- Must have experience and be highly proficient with Microsoft software packages, including Excel, Work, Outlook, and have the ability to learn other software as needs arise.
- Able to use a telephone, a networked computer and printer, adding machine, copier, FAX machine, and other equipment as technology evolves and needs arise.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
