Position Details:

The Technical Manager, Global Infrastructure and System Administration will manage the day-to-day operations of Kobre & Kim's cloud infrastructure, ensuring 24/7/365 system availability across the 15 global offices we operate in. This includes leading and participating in the implementation, administration and support of all core systems, the management of a global Infrastructure team of 2-3 members, close collaboration and management of Managed Service Providers who are crucial in the support of our global network and systems administration.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as this role requires close collaboration with Kobre & Kim's business leadership teams (Legal, Strategy, HR, Finance, and Operations), the Business Applications team, the Information Security team, the IT Service Desk, and external vendors.

This position will report directly to the Global Information Technology Officer. Preferred work location is the Kobre & Kim New York City office, but remote work within the U.S. is possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, configure, deploy cloud-based infrastructure including hardware, software, operating systems, and other infrastructure components. This includes building servers, installing applications, network device configuration according to organizational requirements and best practices.
  • Define user account permissions and access controls policies to ensure that users have the appropriate level of access to resources while maintaining security and compliance. This includes procedures for creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, and managing group memberships.
  • Work with the Director of Information Security to implement and maintain security controls to protect computer systems, networks, unauthorized access to data, malware, and other security threats. This includes configuring firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools, as well as monitoring system logs and security alerts for suspicious activity.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity in the event of hardware failures, data corruption, or other disasters. This includes regularly scheduled backups, testing recovery procedures, and securely storing backup data.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of systems, networks, and servers. This involves proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime. Perform system log reviews and ensure regular system backups.
  • Work with our Managed Services Provider, Security Team, and Application Team to apply patches, updates, and security fixes to operating systems, software applications, business applications and firmware to address vulnerabilities, improve stability, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations. This includes testing patches in a controlled environment before deploying them to production systems.
  • Work with our Managed Services Provider and Security Team to maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls, setting up and managing end user remote access and monitoring network traffic and performance. Ensure network security and implement measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches. Respond to security incidents.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, hardware and software problems, and user inquiries and support requests. This includes troubleshooting system errors, performance issues, network connectivity problems, and other technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure user productivity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure, including network diagrams, system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. This documentation serves as a reference for troubleshooting, disaster recovery, and knowledge sharing within the IT team.
  • Capability to provide after-hours support to identify and resolve issues relating to accessing corporate IT-managed resources.
  • Manage portion of Technology budget allocated for IT Cloud Infrastructure and support services.
  • Guide the IT Infrastructure team as a cooperative, hands-on leader.
  • Ability to travel 0-30%, on average, based on the work and global project needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience
  • 5+ years of experience on VMware vSphere, Azure cloud services deployments, and cloud migrations.
  • Hands on experience in designing and maintaining cloud infrastructures/cloud datacenters using Azure VMware Solutions, Native Azure and other Microsoft technologies, SD-WAN Solutions, Cisco Meraki Wireless, MS vNet and Global Reach
    • VMware vSphere 6.0 and above.
    • VMware NSX-T network virtualization technologies.
    • VMware vSAN
    • Azure ExpressRoute and Azure VPN
    • Windows and Linux Serves
  • Experience in maintaining Microsoft 365 apps and services such as Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, Zoom
  • Strong understanding of modern security concepts and experience in maintaining security systems such as Active Directory, Zscaler, DUO, and SAML based authentication methods using OneLogin or similar identity and access management solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager & vSphere Replication.
  • VMware management suite (vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI)
  • Strong core platform architecture concepts including hardware platform, hypervisor, networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring & alerting, patching.
  • A good understanding of datacenter networking topologies (Cisco switches and firewalls) and common architectures deployed, both Layer 2 and Layer 3 based.
  • Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, create project plans, roadmaps, and drive projects to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in successfully implementing new technologies and services.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strategic and analytical problem solver with ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven self-starter that is motivated to initiate projects and successfully take them from the planning stage to launch and beyond.
Education Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or technology-focused discipline or equivalent experience.
  • VCDX-DCV/CMA certification is preferred but not required.
  • CCDP, CCNP, VCP-NV certification is preferred but not required.


Company Description:

At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is $168,000 (minimum) - $253,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate's actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
