ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES The IT Specialist will be responsible, with finial approval from the CFO or CEO, for researching, selecting, procuring, installing, configuring, organizing, coordinating, maintaining, securing, troubleshooting and documenting the following components: Computer hardware (Servers, workstations, printers, etc.) Networking infrastructure (Firewalls, switches, routers, access points, etc.) Computer software, including specialized industry software System design, including but not limited to redundancy System maintenance System security Back-up, local and online, UPS systems and generator Budgeting Strategic planning Voice Communications Systems and related software Data Analysis: Database access, report writing, Excel and Access Scripting and automation tools Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. Works closely with employees across departments to develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of inter- and intra-departmental goals and specific knowledge of SDCEA programs and information. Develop collaborative relationships with fellow IT professionals. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. May be required, on occasion, to drive a personal or company vehicle for company business. Must be able to work productively independently or cooperatively with others in a team. Must possess written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position. Must be able to operate office machines, computers and associated programs at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position. A college degree in a relevant field of study is strongly preferred to provide the necessary skills, knowledge specific to the position, sound writing and oral communications, and business skills. Minimum of five years of experience in positions with responsibility for IT system maintenance, design, security, troubleshooting or other areas requiring demonstrated technological ability. Job knowledge desired – Windows and some Linux operating systems; personal computer configuration; software setup and use including Excel and Access; programing/scripting; Microsoft 365; Apple ipad; networking (LAN and WAN); firewall configuration, system security; SCADA and automated metering systems; remote and local building surveillance and security systems; mapping; telephone; and other systems as may currently exist or be acquired in the future.
