Eileen is a data-obsessed retail analytics startup helping CPG brands gain valuable insights that havent been previously available. We are a passionate team of entrepreneurs, data scientists, and technologists working towards revolutionizing the CPG industry with cutting-edge analytics.
The Opportunity:
As the Founding Head of Software Architecture at Eileen, you will play a pivotal role in building the foundation for our technology infrastructure. You will be responsible for shaping our software architecture, defining technology stacks, and leading the development team in creating a scalable, secure, and maintainable platform. This is a unique opportunity to be at the ground level and meaningfully contribute to the growth of a high-impact startup.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with your co-founders developing the vision for solving on-demand retail analytics at scale
- Define and document the overall software architecture for Eileen's platforms
- Select and implement industry-best technologies for data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization.
- Develop and enforce coding standards and best practices for software development.
- Lead the engineering team (owned and outsourced) in designing, developing, and deploying core platform components.
- Collaborate with other team members, including data scientists, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure technical feasibility and deliverability of product requirements.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends in the data analytics and retail industries.
- Guide the technical roadmap and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Foster a culture of innovation, humility, and teamwork within the engineering team.
- Recruit, recruit, recruit. This role will be responsible for defining and hiring the right people for the right roles as demands on the business change
Qualifications:
- Multiple years of experience in software architecture and design.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams in startup environments.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data-intensive architectures.
- Strong communication skills.
- Passion for building innovative and impactful products.
- A can do attitude.
- A well informed opinion on specific technologies, languages, processes, software design and performance.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with a company building products for multi-sided markets
- Experience in the CPG industry and retail analytics a plus.
- Experience in mobile and native app development.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of AI and potential implementation in non-traditional industries
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
