Mechanical Engineer

you will be part of a team focusing on the hardware development for radiotherapy treatment machines. Our aim is to provide customers highly integrated cutting-edge solutions with outstanding systems reliability. We closely collaborate with other engineering locations of Varian, mainly at our R&D site in Budapest, Hungary and Palo Alto, California.

Specific Responsibilities: Takes responsibility for leading projects of radiotherapy treatment subsystems. Owns subsystem developments in new design areas and engineering changes. Contributes to systems related designs, provides specification for mechanical and mechatronic parts. Gives specification for requirements, verification test cases, DFMEA and risk control measures. Collaborates with local team members, as well as colleagues in neighboring teams and sites. Liaisons with external stakeholders, suppliers, project and product managers. Brings cross-platform solutions into different product lines. Create reports to radiotherapy treatment projects' board. Owns local laboratory's verification environment.

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Motivated to learn new fields of technical expertise determined by project need. Deep mechanical engineering knowledge in R&D area. Strong background in project management. Medical device related developments experience is an advantage. Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
