**Description**

* Actively works on and supports the development of new technologies and supplier capabilities.

* Perform daily procurement activity by processing requisitions and performing (Material requirements planning) MRP analysis in order to meet desired cost and schedule requirements, while maintaining proper inventory levels in support of manufacturing.

* Determines method of procurement such as direct or distributor purchase.

* Orders, quotes, reschedules, and cancels parts and materials from MRP and enters information into computer. Maintains accurate procurement records such as service purchased, costs, delivery and inventories in MRP system.

* Negotiates pricing for blanket agreements, annual contracts and supplier support programs.

* Plans, schedules, and monitors movement of materials through the production cycle using company spreadsheets.

* Monitors Corrective Action Responses for purchasing items: reviews, develops and forwards responses to Quality Assurance; checks on system and status of actions regularly; requests Certificate of Compliance as needed.

* Meets with vendors and sales representatives to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.

* Assist in aligning strategic procurement goals and objectives with quarterly deliverables, weekly activities and daily schedules.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**

This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

* Reduce procurement cost and improve responsiveness by analyzing supply chain and commodity trends, measuring and reporting results as well as enhancing established procedures.

* Monitor supplier capacity and quality issues that may negatively impact fulfillment or on time delivery.

* Lead supplier communication on all changes due to part revisions, need date changes, push-outs, pull-ins, and non-conformances.

**Minimum Required Qualifications****:**

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial or Business Management or related field AND

* Eight (8) years experience in industrial buying or materials management OR

* Two (2) years experience in sheet metal and machined parts

* Equivalent combination of education and experience

**Certificates and Licenses**: None required.

**OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Ability to read blueprints and drawings

* Knowledge of methods of Purchasing and MRP

* Knowledge of legal aspects of purchasing
