Corporate Controller Springfield MO area

We have partnered with a Missouri-based company operating across multiple states. The leadership team is looking to add a sharp Corporate Controller to manage and oversee the work of a small corporate accounting team. He or she will manage all work related to the general ledger, journal entries, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, consolidations and monthly close. Reporting directly to the CFO with a dotted line to other C-Suite executives, the Controller will execute monthly financial reporting and ad hoc reporting.

We are seeking excellent accounting and communication skills with demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to coach and develop staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise a small team, managing accounting functions for several multistate entities, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliation, consolidations, month-end close and all related financial reporting
  • Execute month-end close and support the CFO with development and delivery of monthly reporting packages
  • Partner with CFO to design and implement efficiencies across all accounting and finance processes and procedures, including systems and software
  • Support the annual budget budgeting and reporting process
  • Create ad hoc reports as needed and participate in a variety of special projects when assigned
  • Provide support for the annual external audit

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting
  • Solid organization, procedural and ERP system skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction, effectively prioritizing to manage multiple, competing projects
  • Able to work collaboratively across departments with excellent communication skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors or Masters in Accounting
  • 5+ years related corporate accounting experience
  • 2+ years of staff management experience

This position is a full-time, permanent hire and will be in office. A full compensation package is offered and will be commensurate with experience and expertise.
