Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

Follow, develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and systems.

Assist in preparation and management of annual budgets in collaboration with CFO, program managers and department heads.

Work with the company's banks and other financial institutions to manage accounts, including balances and funding needs.

Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget, providing regular reports to the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors.

Accounting and Reporting:

Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance and entries.

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and financial statements.

Oversee the financial management and accounting for real estate holdings, including residential and commercial properties.

Manage the company's accounting systems and implement upgrades and improvements when necessary.

Collaborate with external auditors as needed, including for annual audits and UFR filings.

Compliance, Controls and Risk Management:

Stay current with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and laws affecting nonprofit organizations.

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Identify and mitigate financial risks, including providing recommendations for prudent financial management.

Grant Management:

Work closely with program managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of funding and expenses.

Prepare financial reports for grantors and donors, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

Proven experience in nonprofit financial management, including grant accounting and reporting.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as nonprofit accounting standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
