Description:
The Systems Administrator will be directly involved in conducting analysis, creating technical/functional specs, configuration, testing and implementation of new and existing systems. This role will provide expertise that is critical in assisting with the identification of opportunities for the effective use of technology and the implementation and support of IT applications and solutions for this team. This role requires 5x per week onsite in Sylmar, CA.
Job Duties:
• Administer source code control, continuous integration, and development (CI/CD), requirements management, defect tracking, cloud technologies and general collaborative solutions in support of our business partners
• Provide technical support to Developers, Testers, and Engineers
• Provide high touch, one-on-one business assistance for new projects, enhancements, and general support
• Provide level one and two support for ServiceNow incidents and work orders
• Work with vendors to resolve issues beyond level two capability
• Maintain server and client software updates
• Maintain server and application level monitoring
• Manage additional capabilities and integrations with other applications
• Maintain documentation for applications for internal and external teams use
• Communicate timely and precisely with business partners and IT teams
• Develop shell and batch scripting for automation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Establish technology standards for development and maintenance of new and existing systems, make recommendations for improvement
• Perform a variety of tasks to review, analyze and modify business application systems including configuration, testing, debugging and implementation
• Provide solid test designs, develop test cases, and perform execution/documentation of test cases
• Provide support to existing applications and resolve business and technical problems
• Keep informed of trends and new developments in technology to better advise management of improvements to accomplish business and information systems goals
• Communicate effectively with management to enhance their understanding of the opportunities and limitations of information systems
• Adhere to system change control processes and procedures
• Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
• Maintaining application license server software and license framework
• Working with various IT groups for software packaging, deployment, and support of R&D teams
• Collaborating with customers to understand and implement user requirements
• Performing business process analysis to define configuration requirements
• Developing business process flows and data models for new system development or for process redesign
• Making appropriate recommendations for continuing, modifying, or abandoning proposed projects based on the results of feasibility studies and/or cost/benefit analyses
• Mapping current processes to the desired state and identifies gaps such as program functions, output requirements, input requirements and sources, data conversion strategies, and system techniques and controls
General Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of technical IT experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to bridge communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of expectations
• Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts
• Ability to drive requirements and project work through to closure
• Experience in reviewing technical designs, and experience in code reviews - providing feedback on whether the technical design and code satisfies functional specifications
• Training and experience in good test design and experience reviewing, executing, and approving test cases
• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
• Ability to work in a highly matrix and geographically diverse business environment
• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance on-site

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of Scripting Languages: PERL, Shell, Python
• Extensive knowledge of R&D applications in the areas of source control (such as AccuRev or Bitbucket), CI/CD applications (such as Jenkins), Defect tracking tools (such as ClearQuest or Jira), Requirements tools (such as DOORS) and Static Analysis tools (such as Coverity)
• Knowledge of R&D hardware platforms such as Windows, Unix/Linux, and Microsoft Azure
• Proven process knowledge and the ability to communicate with other team members, business partners and leaders
• Experience with application integrations, maintaining and configuring commercial out of-the- box (COTS) solutions
• Experience with DevOps development
