Wieland is hiring a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations will lead the execution operational improvement strategy for East Alton (EA) location under the direction of VP of Operations. The key factors of success for this role include effective leadership of EA operations team and partnering with other RA functional directors and corporate stakeholders to achieve sustainable results across key Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) metrics. This role is located in East Alton, IL. Responsibilities Director of Operations Responsibilities: * Demonstrate safety leadership principles, lead execution of Wieland safety strategy in partnership with corporate safety team to achieve sustainable safety improvements across EA. * Operationalize Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) systems and principles e.g. Problem Solving methodologies, TPM, Toyota Kata Process, Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI), leadership standard work etc. to improve and sustain operational results, partner with Lean/CI functional team to train and develop operations team problem solving skills * Drive quality improvement across EA, Partner with quality functional team to drive timely completion of customer quality corrective actions and successful ISO certification maintenance. * Drive EA equipment reliability improvements that directly impact On Time Performance (Delivery), Partner with supply chain team to optimize inventory performance metrics. * Drive improvement in cost and productivity metrics (Yield, Overtime, Maintenance costs etc.); Partner with EA Process Engineering team to drive yield improvement projects across EA. * Effective management and execution of East Alton Capital projects and expenditure spend . * Develop and Execute on People Development Plans at each level of operations functions. * Partner with EA HR team to maintain positive relationship with EA Union and drive timely resolution of grievances. * Execute on Operationalizing Wieland Core Values/ Systematic Culture improvement at EA. * Actively support Project WISE (SAP) implementation across EA. * Actively support EA2030 project and execute on key actions as needed by the core team. Director of Operations Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations, Business, or relevant curriculum * 12-15 years of manufacturing experience in operational management roles with significant complexity and accountability * 5+ years of Metals rolling manufacturing process knowledge * Experience with both unionized and non-union workforces is desirable * Experience must demonstrate ability to effectively manage and lead progressively more complex assignments, with a strong manufacturing / quality background * Incumbent should be self-motivated/driven and be able to inspire and create enthusiasm for improvement initiatives. * Leadership, influence, listening, communication, and ability to coach and develop teams. * Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills. * High energy, data driven, and results oriented. * High level of integrity and confidentiality * Qualifications Joining Wieland's team gives you… * Benefits - Starting on Day 1 Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life & more * Retirement Savings - 401(k) contribution + match. * Work/Life Balance - Paid Vacation & Holidays. * Growth Opportunities - We have over 8,000+ employees worldwide and 35+ locations in North America alone.
