Learn more today www.bendix.com/careers JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: The Manager, General Accounting has lead responsibility for managing day-to-day general accounting for the KB Truck N.A. group. This includes managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, account analyses and reconciliations and closely interfacing with external auditors each quarter end. The Manager will provide staff supervision and interface between central finance and business unit finance leaders as well as plant finance staffs and headquarter accounting teams. In this highly visible position, the manager will maintain and establish processes, analytical tools, and controls in an SAP environment to accurately record financial results. This role is the technical accounting expert with working knowledge of IFRS. Essential Functions: * Plan, organize and direct all activities, policies and procedures for General Accounting functions. * Leads the monthly and quarterly accounting close activities and analysis of results including reporting of results monthly to Knorr-Bremse. * Responsible interpretation of IFRS accounting methodology as it relates to a variety of business scenarios * Primary liaison with KB corporate accounting team and responsible for communicating with truck finance teams. * Manages the Fixed Assets accounting to ensure all capital spending, depreciation, tax reporting and other extraordinary items are completed. * Drives continuous improvement throughout Finance as it relates to month end and year-end closing. * Acts as one of the primary interfaces with the external auditors during the annual audit. * Ensures completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations and financial reporting. Knowledge: * Solid knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures. * Knowledge and understanding of IFRS Accounting Standards preferred. * Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, SAP preferred. Experience: * 7 years of finance or general accounting experience. * 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. * Experience with complex ERP and Financial systems -- SAP experience preferred. Skills: * Strong, demonstrated leadership skills. * Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting aggressive deadlines with minimal supervision. * Possesses the skills to facilitate continuous process improvements. * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Possesses strong analytical skills. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. * Must possess the skills to work with all levels in a matrix organization. Education: * B.S. degree required with concentration in accounting required. MBA and CPA a plus.
