Vaco is seeking an experienced, qualifiedSenior Accountant for a small, private company in Memphis, Tennessee.

TheSenior Accountantrole is suited for the individual seeking opportunity for growth and development. To be successful in this role, theSenior Accountantshould possess the ability to conduct a wide variety of intricate and complex accounting duties and projects. An ideal candidate for theSenior Accountantrole should be savvy in Excel, have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills, and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. TheSenior Accountantshould also possess the ability to review and analyze current processes for potential improvements and meet timeliness in completing assignments with deadlines and due dates and have strong integrity and ethics. Must be a self-motivated, reliable individual interested in joining our rapidly growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

General:
  • Oversee finance team member(s) on a daily basis.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures.
  • Manage ad hoc departmental projects and responsibilities.
Financial Record Maintenance:
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist with year-end financial statement audit and tax preparation, including responding to information requests / inquiries.
Reconciliations:
  • Oversee reconciliation of various financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct analyses to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective actions.
  • Analyze and summarize financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial activities.
Communication and collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-function teams, including finance, operations and management to gather relevant financial information and provide companywide recommendations.
Educational / Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-3 years of senior level accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and various spreadsheet programs
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
