The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH), a premier pediatric academic medical center affiliated with Harvard Medical School, is recruiting up to 3 clinical academic pediatric gastroenterologists to join our dynamic and collegial team. We believe this position offers a particularly rich opportunity for early-career pediatric gastroenterologists seeking a strong foundation in academic medicine. Faculty in these roles will receive robust mentorship and opportunities for professional development, with support for clinical growth, academic advancement, and leadership training. Successful candidates will have completed (or be completing their third year of) an accredited pediatric gastroenterology fellowship training program in the United States or Canada. The candidate ideally is board certified in Pediatrics and must be board eligible (BE) or board certified (BC) in Pediatric Gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The primary role of the successful candidate will be to provide both hospital-based and ambulatory patient care to children presenting with digestive disorders as well as to teach residents, medical students, and fellows. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about clinical care, education, and academic inquiry. These faculty will contribute to our division's mission by providing core pediatric GI care, including: 5 outpatient clinic sessions per week at our Needham, Peabody, North Dartmouth, and/or Weymouth locations 1 endoscopy session per week at our Needham and/or Longwood procedural sites 6 weeks per year of inpatient service on the Longwood Campus on our GI inpatient, consult and/or procedural services Core pediatric gastroenterologists are essential members of our division whose primary responsibilities lie in the comprehensive care of children with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and nutritional conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings. These faculty maintain a balanced clinical portfolio and play vital roles in multidisciplinary care, medical education, and academic engagement. They serve as teachers and mentors to students, residents, and fellows, and have opportunities to explore research, quality improvement, and innovative care delivery models in a highly collaborative environment. Depending upon the candidate's interests, there may be opportunities to participate in one of the many centers and/or programs of excellence that are situated within the Division. Of note, interest in practicing in our Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) Program will be particularly welcome. We have a very strong basic science group in cell biology and immunology, and a strong track record in translational research, academic collaborations, and clinical trials. All faculty will have access to: Weekly GI Grand Rounds, Weekly hospital-wide pediatric Grand Rounds, Monthly journal clubs, faculty meetings, specialty conferences and QI sessions, A broad range of clinical research and quality improvement initiatives, and A highly collaborative group of more than 70 pediatric GI faculty and 20 fellows. There are extensive opportunities for teaching and mentoring medical students at Harvard and other medical schools, as well as pediatric residents and GI fellows, and we especially encourage those enthusiastic about medical education to apply. Faculty Appointment: Faculty will receive an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and subject to meeting HMS teaching requirements.
