Position Requirements

The Engineering Technologist's responsibilities include performing research, building prototypes, inspecting products, ensuring sites are safe and clean, providing customer support, and reporting to the supervising Engineer. You should be able to troubleshoot equipment, communicate effectively under pressure, and provide effective suggestions for improvement. Need to demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering terminology and be able to work well in a team. Should be a self-starter with an insatiable curiosity, a superb work ethic, and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide specific technical railroad engineering expertise on transportation and railroad safety
    projects as railroad coordination working liaison working with central office, district offices, federal agencies and railroad companies.
  • Use specialized railroad engineering expertise to develop, review and process technical documents, such as transportation plans, railroad proposals, reimbursement agreements, and bid package documentation.
  • Use specialized railroad engineering expertise to complete railroad engineering programs on behalf of the Cabinet.
  • Provide engineering technological expertise to support utility coordination work
  • Provides engineering technological expertise in utility and railroad program(s) to recommends
    future actions to management.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or other engineering-related field
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to read engineering documents and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma techniques and tools a plus
  • Math skills and computer literacy
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills and time management
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superb writing and presentation skills

Compensation
The rate of pay is $25-$31 per hour plus $300 a month contribution towards medical, dental or vision healthcare coverage. Calloway also provides paid time off for sick and vacation. We offer a 401k plan, AFLAC Voluntary Supplemental benefit plan, paid holidays and employee recognition programs.
