Role is primarily remote but in-office (Highlands Ranch location), up to one time every other week.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Typical responsibilities include working with the business to elicit, analyze and document requirements for projects that encompass business process and technology initiatives. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical resources, management and outside vendors as a liaison who can understand the business problems and opportunities in the context of the technical environments, based on a solid understanding of enterprise information technology and a strong technical aptitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Level I:
1. Interface with business users and stakeholders to elicit requirements using various techniques such as interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process reviews, use cases, scenarios, fit-gap analysis, tasks, and workflow analysis.
2. Decompose high-level business requirements into an appropriate level of detailed user, functional, and non-functional requirements.
3. Translate requests into concise written functional and technical documents in a way that clearly conveys end user requirements.
4. Work with business users, development and other technical resources to review the requirements, define scope and split the requirements into manageable deliverables in the format of features, user stories, and sprints.
5. Prepare and present findings and recommendations to project teams, business users and technical resources, up-to and including executive management.
6. Work with business and technical resources to prepare test plans/scripts, facilitate issue tracking and resolution, develop user documentation, draft training materials, and prepare communications to aid in delivery of a quality product, designed for user acceptance and adoption.
7. Pull and analyze data and present the data in a usable format to provide useful solutions-oriented information for key business decisions. While not a requirement, a working understanding of SQL and API development is a plus.
8. Conduct research on best practices and industry trends, with a view toward improving an understanding of applications and interdependencies between systems, business processes, and data.
9. Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, facilitation and elicitation skills.
10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders, internal and external customers and vendors, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Level II: (Provides all functions noted above, plus the following)
1. Demonstrate that more complex tasks have been mastered and less direction from senior team members and management is needed.
2. Demonstrate product ownership within an Agile development methodology, understanding prioritization, product communication (from business to developers) and roadmap understanding/evangelism.
3. Provide input and make practical and workable recommendations towards the technical vision and solutions.
4. Make recommendations to technology strategy plans.
5. Identify roadblocks, issues or challenges that arise during the project, and works with the project team to remediate and resolve those issues and challenges.
6. Apply knowledge of the business and relevant technologies in a way that engages business partners in evaluating possible solutions.
7. Provide support to other IT Business Analysts.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ideally, the candidate has a working understanding of database structure and data retrieval. This would be translated into a basic understanding of API development and interface. Working understanding of JSON formatting, data types and relationships and API interactions.
- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements. Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve every day and/or complex company issues.
- Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications solutions and decisions. Ability to demonstrate and execute practical and effective solutions to problems. Must have a strong work ethic, integrity, and good business acumen.
- Knowledge and ability to facilitate meetings and presentations, and to develop consensus both internally and externally, with people who reflect the full range of diversity in the business objectives.
- Experience in analysis of operations for the purpose of proposing innovative solutions to problems; and in organizing, writing, and editing information to make it meaningful to a wide array of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources. Must be able to determine whether tasks should be attempted and, if so, identify the most effective way of completing the task, anticipating ways to overcome unexpected difficulties. Must be skilled in focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, clarifying next steps, and delegating effectively to meet deadlines and achieve desired results. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
- Must have the ability to manage workload, to develop efficient and effective processes that impact the entire organization, and to communicate with managers and staff at all levels of the organization. The incumbent in this position must be able to adjust plans and schedules to respond to crisis situations and to withstand pressure attributable to meeting the changing needs of company executives. Demonstrated attention to details, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, respond with urgency, and provide collaborative solutions. Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving and decision-making skills. - Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Ability to develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate easily with both technical and non-technical users. Ability to effectively present information to top management, vendors, and project staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- MS Office skills, especially strong experience with Excel is required. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Performs duties that require strong comprehension, analytical, research, composition, communication, and organizational skills. Must be skilled in word processing, drafting correspondence and memoranda, and creating presentations. Knowledge of the operational and procedural aspects of computer systems, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires mobility sufficient to travel. Some bending, stooping and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.
