Apply TodayJob Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:The CLINICAL PHARMACIST is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy services during their shift to include staffing, overview of the technical staff, maintenance of the pharmacy standard of practice and adherence to the policies and procedures of the department.POPULATION SERVED:Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Preparation & dispensing for all medications prescribed for all conditions/illnesses for an inpatient or outpatient of this facility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reviews and interprets physician medication orders ensuring appropriate therapy.Ensures that the compounding and dispensing of all medications is accurate and timely.Actively participates in the pharmaceutical care of the patient to promote a positive outcome.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONSCurrent license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science in PharmacyOne year experience as a hospital pharmacist is preferredPREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESAbility to learn aseptic techniqueGood judgment and decision making skillsAbility to manage several tasks simultaneouslyMaintain pharmaceutical knowledge with continuing educationAbility to learn multiple computer skillsAbility to get along with co-workers in a positive mannerBachelors DegreeDel Sol Medical Centeris a full service, acute-care hospital in east El Paso, Texas. We have a Level II trauma designation. This facility has 300+ patient beds. Our range of services include emergency care, cardiac care, women’s services, Level III NICU, rehabilitation, a bariatric clinic, and a Minimally Invasive Surgery Center.
