Plans and implements security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data from loss and service interruptions. Analyzes and documents security risks, breaches, and other cyber security incidents and the damage they cause. Develops and implements a network disaster recovery plan and oversees the monitoring of the computer networks for security issues. Collaborates with the security team to perform tests and find network weaknesses. Researches and keeps current on the latest IT intelligence technologies, trends, and security standards. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. May act as a lead. Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for DoD and Intelligence Systems in accordance with Risk Management Framework and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Integrated Product Team (IPT) project Subject Matter Experts (SME) and NAVSEA Program Offices to facilitate system authorizations.
  • Developing and accessing system security plans including, security concepts of operation, risk management matrix, security control traceability matrix, security test procedures, and plan of action and milestones.
  • Conducting and/or analyzing vulnerability assessments to validate system compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls and DISA Security Technical Information Guidelines (STIGS).
  • Analyzes and configures systems and components to ensure STIG compliance.
  • Verifying and validating vulnerability resolutions and/or mitigations.
  • Effectively communicate work plans, milestones (POAM), and obstacles to clients.
  • Resolve non-routine problems with area of assigned responsibility and timely direct complex problems, questions, or complaints to Program Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Candidate must possess an IAT II qualifying certification.
  • Secret clearance: US Citizenship is required.
  • Knowledge of RMF, vulnerability management, remediation.
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • Experience with developing or supporting development of RMF packages.
  • Experience with ATO sustainment activities, to include security testing, vulnerability remediation, patching, etc.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration.
  • Experience with traditional A&A tools: ACAS Nessus, Xacta, eMASS, SCAP Scanner, STIG Viewer.
  • Navy ship systems expertise is desired for one of the projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national Cybersecurity policies, DoD or Intelligence Community A&A processes and procedures and industry best practices on complex systems.
  • Expertise in vulnerability assessment, control allocation and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to communicate, explain, or defend ideas or information clearly. Listen to others and recognize potential miscommunications, offer clarity.
  • Strong organizational skills.
