The Pre-Apprentice will be responsible for on the ground-operations of the warehouse while learning and training under various HVAC technicians. This role is designed to assist with a large project of driving between locations (local travel) and ensuring products are kept in stock. This opportunity are for those training to become an HVAC technician.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transporting parts, tools, miscellaneous items between locations using a company vehicle.
- Acts as a warehouse associate in keeping area neat and tidy.
- Actively attends training sessions under various HVAC technicians.
- Participates in company meetings and events.
- Participates in safety initiatives.
•High School diploma or equivalent.
Competencies:
- Communicate effectively with internal team and customers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read written reference material, and perform math.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and clean criminal background.
Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other Plumbing tools. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires:? stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work.
Work Environment
This job operates alone or with other technicians with HVAC equipment in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year.
Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
