As a member of the engineering group, (s)he will be responsible for developing, designing, qualifying, and releasing new products for our current and next-generation product lines.DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSContribute to the design of Waterjet pumps and component solutions that fit within the overall product option architecture. Initiate engineering changes and new product releases, that impact the product line.Develop, design, and test machine (PLC) logic and define machine parametersDocument the sequence of operations for machinesImplement Engineering ChangesDevelop and maintain a Bill of MaterialsPerform design validation using digital and physical prototyping, software simulation analysisCharacterize and verify product performance to meet engineering specificationsProvide product design and generate supporting documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, control program files, BOMs, engineering reports, validation test plans, and test reportsPerforms any necessary technical calculations to ensure a functional and sound product.Participate in Failure Analysis and Corrective Action teams for new productsWork closely with manufacturing engineering to identify, design, and provide support for the implementation of facilities, equipment, and fixtures required to perform Standard Test ProceduresDetermine equipment requirements relative to applicable codes and standards. This will include domestic as well as worldwide regulations.Must be customer-focused, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasksAssist in preparing testing specifications and operation and service manuals.Support Technical Service in the field during installation and in-house.QUALIFICATIONSMust have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentalsKnowledge of National Electric Code (including NFPA 79) and CE electrical and/or product design requirements.Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks Electrical, preferredExperience using PDM systems preferredAbility to develop new products from concept through productionDemonstrated ability to be part of a small team with aggressive goalsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary teamGood organizational, communication, and prioritization skillsHTML 5 and IoT experience is a plusExperience with IEC 61131-3 based PLC programming softwareHigh level of analytical ability where problems are complexEducation RequirementBSEE, BSET, or BSME Required or equivalent education with 2-5 years experience
