Phlebotomist II - Flowery Branch and Oakwood - 2 Openings The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Responsibilities: Conduct blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Clearly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal, in a courteous manner. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, and fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script accurately. Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature. Place samples in the appropriate collection container or tube, accurately label them, and follow procedures for transport to maintain specimen integrity. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills: 2-4+ years of recent phlebotomy experience in a clinical environment. Experience with blood draw and hard stick - pediatric to geriatric. Must draw with straight needle venipuncture. Excellent customer service. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED. Work Environment: The 2 positions are located in Flowery Branch, GA and Oakwood, GA. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. The role involves performing over 30+ draws daily, working both independently and as part of a team, primarily drawing and processing samples from adults, although experience with all ages is beneficial. This is a non-smoking site. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Flowery Branch, GA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
