We need Medication Aides to join our team at Heritagespring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Chester, OH.You'll assist with administering of medications and treatments to Assisted Living residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing.$23 to $27 Per Hour - (based on licensure and experience)PLUS we offer additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shiftsMA-C Medication Aide Certification RequiredMust have an MA-C certification to function as a certified medication aide in a nursing home.You'll Be Responsible For:Following the policies & procedures of the facility governing the administering of medications to residentsReporting any medication error, clinical issue or resident need that you are unable to address to the charge nurse and/or nurse managerAssisting in developing and implementing procedures to discover when, where, and why medication errors take place, & how they can be preventedPerforming administrative requirements, such as completing & submitting necessary forms, documentation, etc.Maintaining a friendly, productive, working relationship with other members of the department of nursing, attending physicians, the Medical Director, & pharmacistsAttending & participating in care plan meetings as necessary. Participating in the development and implementation of comprehensive resident assessments as necessaryClinical / Drug Administration:Accurately and safely preparing, administering, & documenting the oral, nasal, otic, ophthalmic, inhalation, and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this facility & that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician or the Medical DirectorAccurately measuring, recording, & reporting the vital signs of residentsVerifying the identity of patients receiving medicationFollowing facility procedures regarding documentation & storage of medicationsFollowing facility policies & procedures regarding the destruction of medications;Assisting in carrying out these rules (including documentation requirements) under the direction of the facility pharmacist or Director of Nursing ServicesClarifying any order or treatment regimen as neededOrdering medications; returning all discharge medications for credit in compliance with federal & state regulationsMaintaining clean, orderly medication room & cartCompleting any other required forms & documents in accordance with company policy state and/or federal regulationsYou'll Need to Have:An active certification in the state to practice as a medication aideAn active certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant in OhioDocumentation of such certification upon application for the positionThe ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, & the general publicThe ability to clearly relate information concerning a resident's conditionWe're Proud To Offer You:Paid Time OffPaid TrainingHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsuranceDisability Insurance401K with Employer MatchFlexible ScheduleEducation ScholarshipsContinuing Education CreditsEmployee DiscountsExceptional Care & Quality Service are the hallmarks of Heritagespring's in-house team of talented and experienced licensed therapists, nurses and caregivers.Heritagespring is an EOE/M/F/D/V and Smoke-Free Workplace.
